First of all, ‘late-rising’ is unhealthy and should be avoided. The moment you get up late your realize that the world around you had been awake before you; in fact, the feeling that everyone had gone ahead of you will actually eat you up. Much stress, frustration and anger comes upon you automatically, which will affect your mind, body, health, relationships, money and your destiny.
The following steps will help you get up early to get the richest rewards of life.
Step 1: Move up Gradually.
Remember neither your mind nor your body is a machine. Enthusiastic planning to get up early never works, as our bodies don’t cooperate. Anything, which needs to be built up, should be done so gradually. Emotional spurts work for a day or two. Even tightening the guitar strings slowly helps in tuning it without breaking it.
Don’t make drastic changes. Start slowly, wake up just 15-30 minutes earlier than usual. Get used to this for a few days. Then again cut back another 15 minutes. Repeat this until you get to your ‘goal’ time. In a month, you could be operating an hour or two, earlier than before.
Step 2: Go to bed early
Go to bed early. Remember everyone needs a minimum of 6-8 hours of sleep. If you go to bed late and try to get up early you are violating the limits of our body. Remember less sleep reduces your lifespan.
Allow yourself to sleep earlier. Most people function best on a set amount of sleep. You might be used to staying up late, perhaps watching TV or surfing the Internet. But if you continue this habit, while trying to get up earlier, sooner or later you are going to give up one of them for the other. It is the early rising that you will eventually give up. (If you are planning to wake up 2 hours earlier than usual, you better get to bed two hours earlier to keep yourself fit)
Winding Down: Create a wind-down routine, which will help you prepare for sleep. It’s hard to convince your body to fall asleep if you’re operating full throttle. Stop arguing; watching emotional dramas; using phones to mention some. For some a hot cup of milk, reading in dim light, avoiding caffeine helps
Step 3: Eat thin or nothing for your dinner
After you eat dinner your system takes 3 hours to digest it. If your stomach is empty your sleep refreshes you. When you sleep with undigested food in your stomach, sleep time extends to more than 8 hours. Also in the morning, your system is actually digesting the undigested food. This will limit your early morning functions, bodily routines and work effectiveness. Eating thin dinners will also help you partially get up early because you are also hungry early morning.

Exercise during the day: It’s proven that those who exercise sleep better consistently. A good workout at some point in the day makes you tired, you just might fall asleep much sooner than you think.
Step 4: Plan your morning the previous day
Many get up early morning and end up reading their WhatsApp messages, replying emails and fumbling to do something useful. Don’t wake up early just to waste that extra time.
Get a jump-start by planning your day! Planning your mornings the day before helps you tremendously. Failing which you will only waste your precious time.
Learn to enjoy your early mornings. It has a unique flavour, which is lost as the sun comes out. Begin meditating, exercising or reading. Watch the sky turn light. It’s beautiful. And it’s quiet and peaceful. Getting up early is a reward in itself. By the time you cross 9 am, you have done more than many people do the entire day.
NOW the VITAL step: START TOMORROW
Plan to wake up early tomorrow morning.
Set the alarm clock and put it far from your bed. (I hope you know why!)
Go out of the bedroom as soon as you shut off the alarm.
Don’t allow yourself to rationalize going back to bed.
Get into the bathroom and quickly take a quick shower. (the moment you do it, you are awake enough to face the day.)
Tempt yourself with some coffee before getting down to business.
Get out of your house for a time of exercise.
There you go! Have a great day……..
